Management Reporting Lead

Reference number: 413202

Salary: From 1 October 2025 the salary for this role is expected to be £58,655. Once you’ve completed a probationary period (usually 6 months) you’ll be eligible to receive a pay premium allowance of £4,399 per year. This allowance is non contractual and non pensionable.

Location: Newcastle

Hours: A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although attendance at other locations for official business will count towards this.

The Infected Blood Compensation Authority (IBCA) was set up in response to the devastating events that occurred in the 1970s and 1980s when more than 30,000 people in the UK received contaminated blood products. The IBCA will work with people who were infected and affected by these issues, and when you join us you’ll have the opportunity to shape and design an organisation that will make a difference to the lives of thousands of people throughout the UK.

Help us create a service that treats our customers with care and respect

Join us as Management Reporting Lead and you’ll have the opportunity to help our senior leaders deliver a responsive and successful compensation service. Getting into the detail of the numbers as you manage and report our financial performance, it’ll be your task to ensure accurate ledgers are turned into crucial insights for decision makers each month. Leading on allaspects of in-year reporting, and providing professional insights through regular management reports to boards and directors, you’ll oversee the submissions due for Mains and Supplementary Estimates.

Working with the wider finance team to help directors understand financial performance and capture robust forecasts, you’ll be ready to ensure appropriate challenge and scrutiny as we deliver overall value for money. We’ll also expect you to oversee investment decision support and business partnering to directorates, and guarantee the delivery of a quality service by supervising the staff involved in the end-to-end purchase order process.

You’ll be an experienced and proactive accountant with a keen eye for detail and the confidence to present and challenge complex financial reports. Good at managing completing priorities and capable of understanding and responding to stakeholder needs, you’ll be managing two SEO accountants, so we’ll expect you to be a motivating manager with the ability to support your colleagues’ professional development. It’s essential that you’re capable of managing a wide range of deliverables in a timely manner, and in order to help us establish our processes and deliver to tight timescales, you should have a flexible and adaptable approach to your work.

When it comes to professional credentials, you should hold a full chartered level professional qualification awarded by one of the following UK-recognised accountancy bodies – CIMA, ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS and Chartered Accountants Ireland.
