Rehoming and Welfare Manager (Cattery)

This role is responsible for the efficient and effective running of all aspects of the Cattery at our flagship site in Battersea, London. Working alongside another Rehoming and Welfare Manager, this role will oversee the intake, day-to-day care, assessment and rehoming of our cats, ensuring our customers receive an excellent standard of customer care.

The Rehoming and Welfare Managers work together to line manage the cattery team leaders and oversee around 40 staff and volunteers, leading them through support, motivation and development to reach their full potential and deliver consistently high standards. Working together as a team under the leadership of the Service Improvement Manager, you will support our objective to directly help more cats by leading a high-performing team, being innovative, and driving continuous improvement using evidence and data. This will include the delivery of our Animal Charter, which highlights our commitment to providing the highest standards in animal welfare to the dogs and cats that pass through our centres.

Additionally, this postholder will collaborate with other teams including Animal Partnerships, Fostering and Volunteering, Feline Behaviour and Clinic to deliver Battersea’s wider strategic aims of increasing our impact and supporting animals outside our gates. Applicants must have proven management experience as this is a demanding role with difficult decisions to oversee, including around animal euthanasia.
