At Hope Rescue, our foster carers play a vital role in helping dogs recover, grow in confidence and prepare for life with their forever families.
We’re looking for a compassionate, organised and experienced Fostering Manager to lead our fostering programme during a period of maternity leave.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of dogs and the incredible volunteers who open their homes to them every day.
What you’ll be doing
As our Fostering Manager, you’ll lead and develop Hope Rescue’s fostering programme, ensuring every foster placement is a positive experience for both the dog and the foster carer.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across our rescue, behaviour, veterinary and adoption teams to ensure dogs receive the very best care while in foster homes.
- Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Recruiting, supporting and retaining a fantastic network of foster carers.
- Leading and developing our Fostering Assistant, providing guidance, coaching and support.
- Matching dogs to suitable foster homes based on their individual needs.
- Supporting foster carers with advice, training and ongoing communication.
- Working alongside our Behaviour and Welfare team to achieve the best possible outcomes for every dog.
- Helping dogs move successfully from foster care into loving permanent homes.
- Promoting fostering through events, partnerships and community engagement.
- Ensuring policies, records and procedures meet the highest standards of welfare and compliance.
- What we’re looking for
- Has experience working within animal rescue, fostering, rehoming or animal welfare.
- Has experience leading or supervising people and enjoys helping others develop.
- Understands dog welfare, behaviour and the needs of rescue dogs.
- Has proven communication and relationship building skills and enjoys working with volunteers.
- Is highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Can make confident decisions whilst remaining calm, compassionate and professional.
- Shares our passion for improving the lives of dogs and supporting the people who care for them.
- Experience of volunteer management or foster carer support would be particularly valuable, as would knowledge of ADCH standards.
