Salary: £33,673 – £36,581 pro rata

Contract: Fixed term contract until 31 March 2028 commencing as soon as possible

Contracted hours: 29.6 hours per week (4 days per week – days to be agreed)

We are seeking to recruit a Committee Services Officer, working in a small but busy team responsible for supporting the administration of Council committees, Local Government Reorganisation, aiding Councillors and assisting with Elections.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

You will support meetings of the Council as directed by the Committee Services Manager or the relevant Committee Services Team Leader. Duties will include preparing agendas, reports and minutes, attending Council meetings, including evening meetings, and assisting the Chair/Members, providing advice as appropriate. The role will also support the provision and development of Member Services, including training, outside bodies, parish matters. Collation of information for Freedom of Information requests is also part of the role. This position is a politically restricted post and you may be required to work outside of normal working hours.

  • To be organised, have attention to detail and be reliable.
  • To be comfortable meeting deadlines.
  • To be able to stay calm under pressure as you will be dealing with elected members on a regular basis and will be handling information of a very sensitive nature requiring diplomacy and discretion.
