Responsibilities

  • Support formal decision-making processes within the Council, including Cabinet and various regulatory boards.
  • Manage a team of Democratic Services Officers who advise on Council meetings such as the Planning Regulatory Board, Licensing Regulatory Board and the six Area Councils.
  • Provide leadership for the team to ensure effective organisation and decision-making in hearings such as School Admission Appeals, Independent Review Panels for School Exclusions and multiple Charity Boards.
  • Collaborate with officers across the Council to maintain good governance and uphold democratic procedures.
