Founded in 1882, The Royal College of Music (RCM) is a world leading music conservatoire with a prestigious history and contemporary outlook. The College has held global first and second positions in Performing Arts for five successive years, while Music is a new subject introduced to the rankings in 2024.

The Royal College of Music is seeking to appoint a Concert & Venue Manager to join the busy Performance & Programming department. This is an opportunity to join a team that has responsibility for planning and organising all orchestral and large ensemble concerts at the RCM including performances by Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, Opera Orchestra, New Perspectives, Jazz Orchestra, Wind Ensemble and Brass Ensemble. This role involves working closely with students, staff, professors and orchestral musicians.

Key Duties Include

  • Stage management of rehearsals and concerts
  • Hire and preparation of instruments for performances
  • Orchestra and large ensemble touring logistics
  • Monitoring health and safety in performance venues
  • Plan and deliver the annual Great Exhibitionists concert series

We Are Looking For Candidates With The Following Attributes

  • The ability to understand the practical implications of a musical score, particularly with regard to instrumentation and stage layout
  • Practical experience of stage managing concerts
  • The ability to undertake work of a practical nature
  • Experience of advance planning
  • Exceptional level of accuracy and attention to detail
