An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Dispensing opticians and Contact lens opticians to join our team as Visiting clinical tutor (VCT) within the optometry department at City, St George’s University of London. This role involves supervising and supporting 3rd year undergraduate optometry students as they deliver patient care in a professionally supervised environment.
City Sight Clinic is a purpose‑built, state‑of‑the‑art teaching facility committed to delivering outstanding optometric education and accessible, high‑quality eye care to the local community. Our dynamic teaching model blends academic knowledge with real‑world clinical experience, ensuring our students graduate with confidence and competence.

- Supervise students in specialist dispensing or contact lens clinics

We Are Looking For
- GOC registered with a minimum of 3 years post‑registration clinical experience
- Have an interest in education and student development
- Have experience supporting or supervising students in clinical practice
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your supervisory skills, stay engaged with cutting‑edge clinical practice, and be part of a supportive team of professionals who share a passion for education. Training and ongoing support will be provided.
Salary: Approx. £37 per hour
Working hours: 9am-5pm, 1 day a week between September to April. Mandatory induction day Tuesday 8th September 2026.
