At Opticall Home Visiting Opticians, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional, person-centred eye care directly to residents in care settings and patients at home in our local communities. We are seeking a proactive and experienced senior optical advisor to join our office-based sales and clinical support team in Hemel Hempstead. This is a pivotal role, where you will be the core link between our customer, field-based optometrists, and lab, ensuring a seamless and high-quality service end-to-end.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Serve as the primary optical expert within the office team, handling patient inquiries, order administration, and technical optical queries.
- Interpret optical prescriptions accurately and offer expert advice on tailored lens selection, coatings, and frame styling.
- Manage order placement and job tracking, and provide support with quality control checks, and stock management when required.
- Provide empathetic telephone triage and support for patients and their families regarding their visual needs.
- Support and mentor junior customer service and administrative team members to maintain high service standards.
About You
- Highly conscientious person, driven by shared values, vision and mission.
- Proven track record as a senior optical advisor within an optical practice setting.
- Sound knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, frame fitting principles, optical measurements, and prescription interpretation.
- Exceptional communication skills with a compassionate, professional, and patient-focused approach.
- Highly organised with strong multi-tasking skills and attention to detail.
- Confident using pms systems, databases, and bespoke software applications.
- A collaborative team player committed to delivering excellence in community optical care.
