Vivace is an SATB choir of around 25 members, meeting on Wednesday evening in the Elmitt Piano Academy in Arlesey, a small town on the Beds/Herts borders. We give 3 concerts per year and also accept invitations to sing at fundraising and community events. Our choir is supported by an excellent piano accompanist and we enjoy rehearsing and performing choral music of many styles and eras, from early Baroque to popular songs and musicals. Our current Musical Director is relocating to the north of England in July, and will be greatly missed for his enthusiasm and positive energy. We are looking to appoint a new MD who will continue to develop our musical abilities, potential, and joy in singing.

Position Start Date: September 2025

Application Process: Closing date for applications is Monday 3rd March 2025. Shortlisted applicants will be supplied, in advance, with a short audition piece with which to rehearse the choir. There will also be an interview planned for Wednesday evening, 26th March. Shortlisted applicants will also be welcome to attend one of our Wednesday evening rehearsals prior to the audition date to see and hear our current main concert piece – Schubert Mass in E flat major.

If you are interested in applying for the role of MD, please submit an up-to-date CV of relevant experience, along with a covering letter explaining why you would like to be considered for the role and what you think you could bring to it.
