Job description
AAT is a profit-for-purpose organisation helping people transform their lives through accounting and finance careers.
Every qualification we deliver and every member we support helps people access new opportunities and achieve their ambitions.
Term
Permanent
Location
We have hybrid working in place, with 1-2 days per week, inour office in Canary Wharf.
Why this role matters
You’ll help a purpose-driven organisation support thousands of students and members while building practical skills that can open up future career opportunities.
As a Business Administrator Apprentice in the Customer, Partnerships and Innovation (CPI) portfolio, you’ll play a central role in supporting some of the most visible and fast-moving areas of AAT that directly support our community of members and students.
You won’t be working in just one team.
You'll work alongside teams that create new products, support our customers, grow partnerships and shape the future of AAT.
One week you could be helping organise an event, the next supporting a new project or coordinating communications that help teams across AAT work together effectively.
Every task you take on will help teams focus on delivering the services and support that make a difference.
Alongside your day-to-day role, you’ll complete a Business Administration apprenticeship, giving you structured learning, a recognised qualification and time to develop your skills as you work.
This is a great opportunity to build a strong foundation for your career, with support from colleagues across CPI to help you grow and progress.
Unlike many apprenticeship roles, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of teams and leaders across AAT, giving you valuable insight into how a successful organisation operates and helping you build professional relationships from day one.
This is an ideal first or second role for someone who wants to learn how a successful organisation works from the inside and gain experience across several business areas.
You'll be supported not only by your Business Manager but also by a network of Business Administrators across AAT, providing opportunities to collaborate and learn from experienced colleagues.
This is a varied and fast-paced role where you'll be trusted with responsibility from the start.
Whether you're supporting projects, improving processes or helping teams stay organised, your work will directly contribute to the success of CPI and support collaboration across the whole of AAT.
- Why you’ll love working at AAT
- Make a real contribution in an organisation with a purpose.
- Gain experience across multiple business areas instead of being limited to one team.
- Learn from experienced professionals and senior leaders.
- Build skills that will support a long-term career.
- Be trusted with meaningful responsibilities from the start.
- Enjoy hybrid working and a supportive team culture.
What will you be doing?
- Provide administrative support to the CPI portfolio, helping teams stay organised and deliver their work effectively.
- Support meetings, including preparing agendas, taking notes, tracking actions and following up with colleagues where needed.
- Help maintain documents, records and shared information so that teams can access accurate and up-to-date materials.
- Assist with coordination of projects, events, communications and team activities across CPI.
- Use Microsoft 365 tools to support day-to-day administration, collaboration and reporting.
- Contribute ideas for improving processes and ways of working as your confidence and understanding grow.
What are we looking for?
You don’t need to have everything fully developed already. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, curiosity and commitment to learn. You’ll enjoy this role if you are:
- Organised, reliable and able to manage tasks and deadlines effectively.
- A good communicator who can build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Proactive, positive and willing to learn.
- Confident using Microsoft 365 tools such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Careful and accurate, with good attention to detail.
- Professional, collaborative and able to handle information with care and confidentiality.
What are the benefits?
At AAT we believe in treating our staff well and this is reflected in our wide-ranging benefits, which include:
- Hybrid working (1-2 days per week in our London office) and opportunities for further flexible working.
- 25 days’ annual leave, increasing one day per year up to a maximum of 30 days plus bank holidays.
- Great pension scheme, life assurance and critical illness cover.
- Health cash plan.
- Enhanced maternity and shared parental leave contributions of up to 6 months’ full pay depending on the length of service.
- Regular wellbeing initiatives.
- Cycle2Work scheme and much more.
