7-10 years’+ experience and a Professional Engineering License. Highly motivated individual who is interested in all aspects of industrial power generation and distribution, including generators, battery energy storage and photovoltaic power systems. The position includes working in the office during design and in the field during construction support and commissioning.
Design Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) distribution systems for industrial power generation and distribution projects including Microgrids for campus and/or district energy systems, and municipal scale power generation facilities. In this role, the successful candidate will also provide engineering support for utility interconnections and generator protection schemes.
Typical tasks will include:
- Short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies
- Development of one and three line diagrams
- Protection schemes and motor control circuits for MV and LV circuits
- Working with vendors to write equipment purchase specifications
- Mentoring and managing younger staff engineers
- Developing Design Documents (One Lines, Protection Onelines, Cable/Wire Schedules, Interconnect Diagrams, equipment specifications, etc.)
- Writing Specifications for purchase of electrical equipment
- Reviewing electrical equipment submittals and ensuring proper coordination with overall design
- Performing calculations and analysis of electrical systems using ETAP and/or SKM
- Travel to client sites during construction
- Providing on-site commissioning support
- Interfacing with clients and contractors
10-20% travel is required.
Education: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
