Overview
We are seeking several highly skilled OpenShift Engineers to support the creation, testing, and manipulation of hosts within a complex OpenShift environment. These consultants will work on template management, platform lifecycle support, and migrations using MTV for OpenShift. A strong background in virtualization technologies is essential, along with the ability to build new platforms capable of hosting Windows, Linux, and other compute guests. This role requires hands-on engineering capability, strong automation experience (preferably Ansible), and a solid understanding of modern infrastructure platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Host Creation & Manipulation: Build, configure, test, and manage hosts within OpenShift and virtualized environments.
- Template Management: Develop, maintain, and optimize host and VM templates to support consistent deployments.
- Lifecycle Support: Provide operational support across the platform lifecycle—provisioning, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Migration Work: Perform migrations using MTV (Migration Toolkit for Virtualization) to move workloads into OpenShift.
- Automation: Use Ansible to automate routine tasks, deployments, and configuration changes.
- Pipeline Development: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and platform automation.
- Platform Engineering: Design and build new virtual platforms capable of hosting mixed workloads (Windows, Linux, guest OSs, compute guests).
- Patching & Maintenance: Execute platform patching, updates, and remediation activities as part of a secure operating model.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (infrastructure-level management).
- Experience working with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Red Hat Virtualization, etc.).
- Practical experience with the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV) for OpenShift migrations.
- Proficiency in Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and the ability to build/maintain pipelines.
- Experience designing, building, or supporting multi-OS virtual platforms (Windows, Linux, compute guests).
- Strong understanding of host-level operations including patching, updates, and lifecycle management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, EX280, etc.).
- Experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Understanding of containerization best practices and platform engineering principles.
