Job Overview
Associated Seafoods is looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone who is comfortable working with numbers, has good attention to detail and enjoys working with people. The role will initially focus on data entry, maintaining spreadsheets and supporting regular financial and operational reporting. You will work closely with the Management Accountant and colleagues across different functions and company sites, gathering information and making sure Finance has the accurate data it needs. This means being confident communicating with others, asking questions and following things up when required.
Previous finance experience is not essential, and the role could suit a school leaver looking to start their career. Full training will be provided and, for someone who demonstrates the right ability and attitude, there will be opportunities to take on more responsibility as their skills and knowledge develop.
Main Responsibilities
· Input and maintain financial and operational information accurately.
· Prepare and update regular sales reports.
· Support the Management Accountant with financial reporting and other day-to-day activities.
· Assist with preparing and analysing operational costs.
· Update weekly KPIs using information provided by our factory teams.
· Maintain existing Excel spreadsheets and reporting tables.
· Work with colleagues across different sites and functions to obtain information required for Finance reporting.
· Follow up confidently where information is missing, late or requires clarification.
· Check information carefully to ensure records and reports are accurate.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
· Is confident working with numbers and has good numerical skills.
· Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in producing accurate work.
· Has a good working knowledge of Excel and is comfortable entering and working with data in existing spreadsheets.
· Is personable and able to build good working relationships with people across the business.
· Is confident communicating with colleagues at different levels and across different sites.
· Is comfortable asking questions, following up and being appropriately assertive when information is needed.
· Is organised, reliable and able to work to regular reporting deadlines.
· Has a positive attitude and is keen to learn and develop.
Previous finance or administrative experience would be useful but is not essential.
