Overview
Associated Petroleum Terminals (Immingham) Limited, has an opportunity for an experienced mariner seeking a full-time shore-based career in the UK. Positioned on the Humber Estuary, APT are a successful, dynamic, and progressive company, who have operated the terminals import & export facilities for over 50 years. As part of the UK Energy Infrastructure we facilitate the safe movement of Oil & Gas as well as Green Energy feedstocks and renewable products on behalf of our Stakeholders. The Terminal services in excess of 1000 vessels per year, ranging in size from barges to Suezmax and VLGCs.
As part of the APT marine team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our nine berths, all located on the River Humber near Immingham.
Responsibilities
- The safe, efficient, and effective control, of all vessel movements within the infrastructure. This will include the direct supervision of the ship berthing team on the quayside.
- Working with the ship’s crews to complete ship/shore interface documentation and safety check rounds onboard the tanker.
- Planning and liaising with terminal operation staff and external parties, to schedule and optimise shipping movements to minimise demurrage.
- Processing ship vetting queries and vessel acceptance requests for our stakeholders.
Shift Pattern
You will work within the APT Marine team, on a 12-hour, rolling shift pattern as we operate our terminal continually throughout the year.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a STCW OOW (Deck) Certificate of Competency (training provided).
- Experience of Shipboard tanker operations is preferred.

- Positive attitude, excellent leadership, communication and IT skills.
- Situational awareness to prioritise tasks safely and effectively in an ever-changing commercial shipping environment.
Requirements
- Valid Full UK driving licence.
