Are you an Engineer looking to progress your career into Project Management? Would you like to take projects from inception, develop them, procure them, deliver them and see them being utilised in a busy port environment?

Due to recent internal promotions within the team, we’re looking to recruit a Project Engineer to cover projects across our Southampton ports. Managing projects valued between £50k to £20m, we’re after a Civil Engineering focused Project Manager with experience of infrastructure works. Working on a variety of assets from 100-year-old dock walls, large portal frame sheds, rail, drainage, pavements and jetties, this role has huge variety. Recent projects currently in flight include major dredging works, renewals of road and walkways, new sheds for building products and car storage expansion.

You should hold a Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or similar subject, as well as experience of delivering your own projects. A strong commitment to Health and Safety is essential and you’ll have experience of overseeing contractor and consultant works on similar sized projects.

  • H&S and Environmental experience in engineering projects.
  • Project management of engineering works.
  • Great communication and team working skills.
  • An enthusiastic and confident nature.
  • Experience of contract management.
  • PC Literate with experience in Word and Excel.
  • Chartered member or working towards (ideal).
  • Experience of Marine Infrastructure projects, desirable, but not essential.
