We are ABPmer, a marine consultancy and survey company that specializes in understanding one of the most complex environments on earth.
We are looking for a senior fisheries consultant to join our expanding team. Our growing portfolio means you will be working with marine ecologists, economists, surveyors, and environmental scientists to deliver a wide range of exciting projects. These typically involve assessment, policy evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and informing emerging marine policy.
You have:
- Knowledge of the UK fisheries and aquaculture sectors and wider marine environment
- At least three years’ experience in a consultancy or regulatory background
You are highly organised, collaborative, and self-motivated, with excellent report writing and engaging presentation skills. You have a strong commitment to sustainable development in the marine environment.
Depending on your background you have skills and experience in:
- Project management and delivery
- Marine and fisheries policy and management (e.g. UK Fisheries Act, Fisheries Management Plans, Common Fisheries Policy, Marine Strategy Framework Directive), fisheries management, Environmental Assessments including Environmental Impact Assessment, Socio-Economic Impact Assessments and Sustainability Appraisals
- Stakeholder engagement experience, in particular in the fisheries sector
- Analysing data and writing clear reports
- Coordinating and managing multiple projects for different clients
- Preparation and contribution to the proposal/tendering process
