Renewable Asset Operations and Maintenance Manager

We’re seeking an experienced Renewables Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Managerto lead the operational performance and maintenance of ABP’s renewable energy portfolio—covering wind, solar, and battery storage systems.
You will ensure optimal performance of our operational renewable assets by leading planned and reactive maintenance, managing supplier relationships, and providing technical oversight of O&M contracts. From commissioning new assets to diagnosing faults and identifying performance improvements, this role is critical to our energy transition journey.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage O&M contracts and relationships for all renewable assets
• Lead technical elements of O&M tendering and contract re-negotiations
• Oversee planned outages and respond to unplanned faults swiftly and safely
• Monitor performance and drive improvements, including fault analysis and resolution
• Support project handovers into operations and ensure smooth transition
• Provide performance reports, budgets, and forecasts to stakeholders
• Investigate opportunities for asset life extension and repowering
• Collaborate with Group IT on asset monitoring platforms and data tools
• Proven experience managing solar and wind assets
• Deep knowledge of O&M practices, HV/MV systems, and industry safety standards
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and supplier management skills
• Familiarity with SCADA systems and asset performance reporting
• Excellent stakeholder communication and coordination abilities
• Knowledge of battery storage operations and the UK energy market
• Experience working in complex or matrix organisations
• Strong presentation and senior stakeholder engagement skills
This is a UK-wide role and will involve travel to ABP port sites and operational assets, particularly during planned or unplanned outages.
