Our Humber region is comprised of 4 ports (Hull, Immingham, Grimsby and Goole) and combined handle around 50 tonnes of cargo annually. Offering services to customers in sectors such as off-shore wind, containers, dry bulks, timer, ro-ro & ferries, automotive and liquid bulks the ports are cemented as a leading gateway for trade, offering reliable and resilient supply chain solutions from around the world.

Due to a recent internal promotion we\’re currently looking to recruit an Experienced Project Manager into a newly created position to assist with the delivery of engineering projects within the Humber region. You should have experience of delivery on programmes and projects valued at over £20m primarily within the civil engineering and structural sectors. You\’ll act as the asset lead on 1-2 major projects with responsibility for scope definition, management of key technical work packages and supporting delivery of the workstream portfolio.

You\’ll be based at either Immingham or Hull but with travel to all 4 ports in the area and should have a strong technical background and be able to understand the technical constraints of delivery. We have a number of refurbishment and new projects which feed into our operational delivery and also into our sustainability strategy Ready For Tomorrow. A strong proactive approach to HSE both day-to-day and built into project plans is essential.

Key requirements and experience

  • Strong track record of technical project delivery – motivated by delivering enhanced project value
  • Hands on approach with a key focus on critical deliverables
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to understand all functional drivers
  • Proactive and high energy personality
  • Assertive of nature – able to challenge internal stakeholders in a positive and collaborative manner
  • Ability to operate in a ‘lean’ client model understanding the practical way forward to reach results
  • Experience with projects in a port environment and/or supply chain related industrial environment
  • Civil Engineering or Project Management degree
  • Experience of project delivery on programmes or projects valued at over £20m
