We’re currently looking to recruit a Port Systems Lead within our IT function to manage the operational support, maintenance and development activities for all applications and systems used in our 21 ports across the UK. The role is responsible for managing a team of solution managers, system analysts and developers (both in-house and external parties) with in-depth technical expertise, there is a high level of stakeholder engagement and the role will involve a high amount of travel across our estate.

Accountabilities
- Accountable for the detailed solution design, delivery and maintenance of solutions, that enable the complete operation of our Ports and Terminals, in line with agreed timescales and budget.
- Accountable for the delivery and support of Performance Management (BI) solutions that are utilised within our Ports and Terminals, in line with agreed timescales and budget.
- Assesses user needs to provide support and proactive service, including analysis of opportunities in order to take advantage of available tools.
- Acts as a focal point for communicating related system problems within the department and collaborates with other teams and suppliers on changes, fixes, and updates.
- Negotiates resolution of conflicting requirements across the business.
- Sets and measures performance objectives and provides regular one-on-one feedback to all members of the team.
- Manages delivery and SLAs by guiding incident resolution, problem management, maintenance, and enhancements.
- Develops relevant metrics, measures and publishes the performance of the services provided and enables continuous improvement activities in collaboration with peer groups.
- Works closely with all other IT teams in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing specific information technologies that support the business plans and IT strategies.
Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain & Logistics solutions, ideally within a Port or transportation infrastructure business.
- Previous managerial experience, possessing strong leadership skills and having a background in coaching and developing talent.
- Experience of developing process automation through the use of technology.
- Experience in a variety of data integration technologies.
- Ability to lead large-scale complex IT programs/projects in addressing overall business needs.
- Excellent written, oral, instructional, presentation, and interpersonal skills focused on motivation and positive attitude.
- Highly self-motivated, directed, and change oriented.
- Knowledge of new technologies (in specific field) and maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes.
- Experience in planning and managing IT programs including budgeting, resource management, and delivery development.
- Experience with managing system integrators to deliver business outcomes.
- Willingness to travel around the Group as required for specific projects and generally.
