We’re looking for a reliable and hands-onPort Operatorto join our team at Swansea Port. This is a full-time, site-based role with occasional overtime and the flexibility to work 12-hour shifts when operationally required.
You’ll play a key role in supporting our fertilizer terminal operations, while also contributing to general cargo stevedoring across the port. This is a great opportunity to be part of a close-knit team working on essential port logistics and cargo handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate bagging machinery for fertilizer storage and dispatch
- Support stevedoring operations including loading and discharging vessels (e.g., coal and general cargo)
- Perform administrative tasks related to dispatch and inventory
- Work flexibly across various stevedoring sites within Swansea Port
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Experience operating the following equipment:
- Loading Shovel
- Forklift
- Telehandler
- Material Handler
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety practices in an industrial environment
Team & Structure
You’ll be part of a team of 12 stevedores, with some members dedicated to fertilizer operations. While your main base will be the fertilizer terminal, you’ll be expected to support other areas of the port as needed.
