We are looking for a skilled Electrical Technician to join our engineering team in Newport. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll support the maintenance and development of critical port infrastructure, ensuring safe and efficient operations across a dynamic environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Carry out inspection, maintenance, fault diagnostics, and installation work in line with legislation and company standards.
- Maintain cranes, machinery, ship locks, sluices, and associated port equipment.
- Work on low voltage (LV) electrical distribution systems.
- Support maintenance and installation across buildings, workshops, and office facilities.
- Perform testing and inspection of electrical and electronic equipment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Apprentice‑trained Electrician.
- Experience in maintenance and breakdowns within heavy industry.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexible and proactive approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience or comfortable working at height & confined spaces.
- Experience with port equipment (e.g. cranes, quayside/mobile plant).
- Background in port or industrial engineering environments.
