  • Provide 24‑hour VHF radio and port telephone coverage.
  • Support Local Port Services, including monitoring vessel movements and allocating berths in agreement with the Harbour Master.
  • Act as the first point of contact for emergencies and assist with the initiation of port emergency procedures.
  • Maintain accurate port records, both paper and electronic, including data input for billing and compliance purposes.
  • Manage and record vessel fuelling activities.
  • Issue ABP permission forms for activities such as diving and hot works on ABP berths.
  • Report unsafe practices, damage or potentially dangerous situations to the Harbour Master.
  • Liaise with ABP colleagues, contractors, vessel operators, agents and customers to support port operations.

  • Understanding of safety, regulatory and compliance responsibilities.
  • A flexible, committed team‑focused approach.
  • A marine background or sound marine knowledge.
  • Knowledge of port operations and port emergency plans.
