Due to an internal move we're currently looking for an Engineering Programme Manager to join our Projects team in the Humber region. Specifically focusing on developing projects from RIBA Stage 0 through to Tender stage, this is an opportunity to help with shaping the port infrastructure and how we operate in the coming years. You should have prior experience in a previous development role working on industrial or commercial schemes valued up to £20m. Some exposure to NEC Contracts and Consenting is preferred, but you must have exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to accurately translate both internal and external stakeholders requirements into solid engineering projects. The role is responsible for managing a team of 4, and prior experience of direct report management is essential. The role can be based from either Hull or Immingham, but there will be project related travel across all 4 ports in the Humber region.

Accountabilities
- To lead the overall direction and delivery of the assigned Engineering Projects activity in an effective and inspired manner.
- Ensuring the projects team have an aligned and agreed view of their performance and delivery expectations and of their role within the projects team.
- Supervising and monitoring of all project work being completed within the team.
- Providing coaching and mentoring to the projects team members, ensuring high levels of motivation are maintained.
- Ensuring compliance and adherence to HR and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Production of robustly considered detailed plans which articulate scope, concept and design of project.
- Preparing time and cost estimates, ensuring they are realistic and timely.
- Preparing and supervising the preparation of tender documentation/specifications.
- Liaising with other ABP departments, customers, Government Agencies and Planning Authorities.
- Controlling contractors, consultants and legal advisers involved in the projects, ensuring quality and programme adherence.
- Experience of working within in an infrastructure development and delivery environment in a project management role
- Ability to create plans and coordinate project delivery.
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to respond to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
- Ability to manage a team’s workflow and ensure deadlines are met.
- Excellent communication skills, good leadership skills as well as being persuasive, encouraging and motivating.
