We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Technician to join our team in our Ayr & Troon Ports. As a Mechanical Technician, you will support the Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Resources Manager to ensure that the Port facilities, plant, and equipment meet all current legislation and the operational needs of the business are met, making sure costs are adhered to as well as achieving high levels of customer service.
Main Duties:
- To work in compliance with both ABP Health & Safety policies and other published safe systems to work and to report unsafe practices to the Engineering Resources Manager or Health and Safety Manager.
- Maintenance and servicing of all mechanical plant and machinery.
- Periodic inspection and testing of all mechanical plant and equipment.
- Assisting in the provision of port duties in respect of engineering maintenance (mechanical/electrical).
Skills qualifications and competencies, experiences:
- Time served mechanic with relevant practical experience of heavy industry with a minimum ONC or equivalent.
- Experience with Maintenance on Plant such as forklifts and wheeled shovels.
- Must be prepared to work flexibly to attend maintenance and breakdown situations during normal hours and out of hours.
- Full UK driving licence.
This role is 39 hours per week, working Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with a one-hour lunch break.
