This is a degree placement, not a permanent job, designed for students seeking a 12-month industrial placement as part of their university course. The placement offers hands-on experience supporting ABP's environmental, sustainability and GIS activities. Working with GIS Analysts, Environment Managers and the Sustainable Development team, you'll help manage, analyse and improve environmental and infrastructure data that supports decision-making and annual reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance GIS data covering ecology, INNS, drainage, utilities and port infrastructure
- Carry out data quality assurance checks and basic spatial analysis
- Support environmental reporting, records and land quality data
- Help improve environmental and GIS data management processes
- Assist with environmental awareness and staff engagement initiatives
- Work collaboratively across Environment, Sustainability, Operations and GIS teams
About You
Essential:
- Currently in your 2nd or 3rd year of a relevant undergraduate degree and able to complete a 12-month industrial placement
- Studying GIS within an environmentally related discipline
- Strong data analysis skills and experience using GIS (ESRI preferred; QGIS acceptable)
- Confident using MS Office with good communication and organisational skills
- Able to work independently
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Experience with environmental or GIS-related data, fieldwork or infrastructure mapping
