Overview of role

Location: West Bromwich

The role of a Multi Skilled Shift Engineer is a varied and challenging one. Working shifts, you will be expected to identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives alongside proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to the plant and site services associated with a major bakery.

Key Accountabilities

  • Diagnose and correct automation, electrical and mechanical issues to resolve breakdown situations.
  • Ensure our engineering strategy is delivered consistently.
  • Deliver turn-key improvement projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Drive the performance of the Engineering function forward.
  • Focus on safe working practices and site performance KPI’s including OEE and CCOs.
  • Plus, any other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of the role.

  • Able to train, coach and assist operators and other engineers.
  • A Higher National Certificate (HNC) in an electrical, automation or multiskilled engineering discipline is desirable, supported by suitable experience.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated, with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Be flexible and co-operative to assist in meeting business needs.
