About You

Experience in LGV fleet maintenance operations is required, along with City & Guilds LGV qualifications or an equivalent in LGV Vehicle Crafts. Strong planning and organisational skills are key, and while an LGV Licence C+E is desirable, it’s not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the ‘Safety First’ approach at all times.
  • Being proactive with hazard reporting, working with VMU coordinators and FLM’s to target Zero Harm.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach when moving between the various tasks within the VMU operation.
  • Actively contribute to site standards and respective internal and external audits.
  • Ensuring a clean as you go approach at all times.
  • Ensuring repairs are carried out to meet or exceed the minimum standards as laid down by VOSA.
  • Work with VMU shift Co-ordinator / FLM and Logistics team to ensure vehicle availability in accordance with delivery schedules.
  • To achieve shift KPI’s by working in an efficient and effective manner.
  • To comply with laid down safety procedures, highlighting any non-compliance issues to the VMU Co-ordinator / FLM.
  • To ensure the effective use of resources available to carry out specific tasks or duties.
  • To ensure that vehicles and other fleet assets are maintained in accordance with Company and VOSA standards.
  • To work flexibly in carrying out any other VMU duties, as required.
