About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced World Buyer to take ownership of a diverse and dynamic global food category. You’ll be responsible for developing a market‑leading range that excites customers, drives sales and delivers strong commercial results. Working closely with trading, supply chain, technical and marketing teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping category strategy, identifying new opportunities and building strong supplier partnerships across the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end‑to‑end buying process for the world foods category
- Develop and deliver a compelling, customer‑focused range strategy
- Source new products and suppliers globally, negotiating strong commercial terms
- Analyse market trends, customer insights and competitor activity
- Manage cost prices, margins, promotional plans and category performance
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality, availability and compliance
- Work cross‑functionally with trading, technical, supply chain and marketing teams
- Drive innovation and bring new ideas to market at pace
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Buyer within food retail or FMCG
- Strong category knowledge in world foods, global sourcing or international ranges
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
- Highly commercial mindset with strong numerical and analytical ability
- Confident decision‑maker who thrives in a fast‑moving environment
- Ability to build relationships at all levels, internally and externally
