Backshift Factory Manager in Glasgow

We're recruiting for a Backshift Factory Manager to lead and oversee all manufacturing activities during the evening shift, ensuring production targets, quality standards, health & safety requirements and customer expectations are consistently achieved. The Role Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire factory operation during the backshift, ensuring efficient, safe and cost-effective production. Key responsibilities include: * Leading all production activities across the factory during the backshift * Driving performance against key KPIs including output, yield, efficiency and labour utilisation * Ensuring products are manufactured to the highest quality and food safety standards * Promoting a strong health & safety culture across all departments * Managing, coaching and developing Team Leaders, Supervisors and Production Managers * Ensuring staffing levels are effectively planned to meet operational requirements * Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste * Working closely with Technical, Engineering, Planning and Supply Chain teams * Managing factory performance and escalating operational issues where necessary * Delivering exceptional standards of compliance, GMP and site housekeeping About You To be successful in this role, you'll have: * Proven experience in a Factory Manager, Production Manager, Operations Manager or Senior Manufacturing leadership role * Strong food manufacturing or FMCG experience * Demonstrable experience leading large production teams within a fast-paced environment * Excellent understanding of food safety, quality and hygiene standards * Strong people leadership, coaching and performance management skills * Experience driving operational improvements and efficiency gains * Commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, quality and service * A hands-on approach and the ability to make decisions under pressure What's on Offer? * Opportunity to play a key leadership role within a successful food manufacturing business * High levels of autonomy and responsibility * Competitive salary and benefits package * Career progression opportunities within a growing organisation * A business committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence If you're a passionate manufacturing leader looking to make a real impact within a dynamic food production environment, we'd love to hear from you.
