Are you a strategic procurement professional with expertise in packaging sourcing, supplier management and cost optimisation?

We are recruiting for an experienced Procurement Packaging Manager to join a leading manufacturing business, taking ownership of a significant packaging spend portfolio and driving procurement excellence across a diverse supplier base.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping procurement strategy, building long-term supplier partnerships and supporting business growth through commercially astute sourcing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies across primary, secondary and tertiary packaging categories
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, service, innovation and value are consistently delivered
  • Lead contract negotiations and commercial discussions to achieve cost savings and favourable terms
  • Identify opportunities to improve supply chain resilience and mitigate procurement risks
  • Monitor market trends, commodity movements and industry developments to inform sourcing decisions
  • Collaborate closely with NPD, Operations, Technical, Sustainability and Supply Chain teams
  • Support packaging innovation projects from concept through to implementation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and deliver measurable cost efficiencies
  • Ensure supplier compliance with quality, environmental and ethical sourcing standards
  • Manage procurement budgets and report on supplier performance and spend analysis

About You

  • Proven experience within Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Category Management
  • Strong background managing packaging categories within manufacturing, FMCG, food, consumer goods or related sectors
  • Experience negotiating high-value supplier agreements and delivering cost-saving initiatives
  • Commercially focused with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and supplier relationship-building skills
  • Understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes and market dynamics
  • Experience driving sustainability and innovation projects would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
