We are recruiting on behalf of a high-growth e-commerce business seeking an elite Senior Direct Response Designer to create performance-driven advertising creative for high-budget D2C brands. This is not a traditional video editing or graphic design role. The primary objective is to create ads that drive sales, with creative performance measured through data, ROI, and revenue. The successful candidate will have 5–10 years of direct response e-commerce advertising experience and understand how to create, analyze, and iterate creative based on actual advertising performance.
If you're primarily an aesthetic designer rather than a performance-driven creative, this role will not be the right fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-performing direct response advertisements for e-commerce and D2C brands.
- Develop creative concepts designed to capture attention and drive action.
- Create strong hooks that immediately engage the viewer.
- Edit advertisements with fast, precise cuts optimized for attention, product demonstration, and conversion.
- Adapt creative based on campaign objectives and performance.
- Produce a variety of advertising concepts and creative iterations at speed.
- Continuously improve creative based on what is actually driving sales.
Performance Analysis & Creative Optimization
- Analyze advertising performance data to inform creative decisions.
- Review metrics such as hook rates and retention curves.
- Identify where creative is losing or retaining viewer attention.
- Use performance data to determine what should be changed, tested, or iterated.
- Continuously develop creative based on measurable results rather than personal aesthetic preference.
- Understand the relationship between creative performance, advertising spend, and revenue.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–10 years of professional experience in direct response advertising and e-commerce creative.
- Strong experience creating advertisements for D2C/e-commerce brands.
- Proven understanding of direct response creative principles.
- Advanced video editing and creative production skills.
- Experience analyzing advertising performance data.
- Understanding of hook rates and retention.
- Ability to iterate creative based on campaign performance.
- Strong attention to detail and speed of execution.
- Excellent communication and ability to work independently.
The compensation structure includes a performance-based bonus tied to ad revenue, creating significant upside for a designer whose creative consistently generates results. The business is specifically prepared to use aggressive incentives to attract top-tier talent.
If you're an experienced direct response designer who knows how to turn creative into revenue, we'd love to hear from you.
