Job Title: Checkout Operator \\nLocation: Manchester \\nPay Rate: £12.21p/h \\nHours: Part-time (20 hours a week) – 3pm-6pm mon – Thursday 8am-4.15pm Sunday\\nContract: Temp to Perm (after 12 weeks)\\n\\nAssist Resourcing are looking for Checkout Operators in Manchester to work with our client, who is the largest non-food wholesaler in the UK.\\n \\nEmployee Benefits:\\nImmediate Starts: Begin earning immediately\\nWeekly Pay: Payday every Friday\\nOvertime Opportunities: Boost your earnings\\nExcellent Facilities:\\n\\n – Comfortable break areas\\n – Vending machines\\n – Subsidised canteen\\n – Free, secure car parking\\n\\nProfessional Development:\\n\\n – Full training\\n – Free upskilling opportunities\\n\\nHours: Part-time hours\\n \\nRoles & Responsibilities:\\n\\n – Accurately process customer purchases and invoices at the checkout.\\n – Provide excellent customer service and respond quickly to checkout calls.\\n – Stay alert to prevent mistakes, fraud, or theft.\\n – Follow correct procedures for discounts, overrides, refunds, and special orders (with manager authorisation where required).\\n – Check pack sizes, barcodes, and codes to ensure goods are correct.\\n – Sort and pack goods carefully, including similar stock items (e.g. sealants, dyes).\\n – Transfer goods safely from trolley to trolley, keeping an eye on stock in boxes and toolboxes to prevent pilferage.\\n – Check and process ID when required.\\n – Handle cash, card, and account payments correctly, checking for counterfeit notes.\\n – Keep checkout areas tidy, clean, and well-stocked.\\n – Adhere to Health & Safety procedures (using ladders, steps, forklifts, etc.) and report all accidents, no matter how small.\\n – Maintain a professional appearance and follow company uniform and conduct policies.\\n – Ensure all staff purchases are made in break times and signed off by a supervisor/manager.\\n\\nThis role may require other duties, so it would be beneficial if you were flexible and willing to learn new skills.\\n \\nAbout you:\\nIf you are a hard-working individual, who relishes a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.\\n \\nYou will be a UK resident and will be able to travel to and from the site for your shift.
