A newly created senior role with genuine scope. As Head of Business Continuity, Risk, Compliance and Resilience, you will build and lead an integrated framework covering operational resilience, IT risk, supplier assurance and crisis management. This is a hands-on position, not a figurehead role; you will need to be comfortable doing the work as well as shaping the strategy. You will report into the senior IT leadership team and have direct Board exposure through regular reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee.
Key Responsibilities- Own and continually improve the Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework
- Design and run disaster recovery simulations and resilience exercises
- Lead crisis management planning and incident response
- Coordinate resilience assurance across third-party suppliers
- Define and maintain technology resilience standards, including DR, backup and RTO/RPO frameworks
- Provide independent assurance that critical systems are protected and recovery plans are tested
- Support access controls, credentials management and authentication reviews for critical platforms
- Build and manage a supplier and partner risk framework
- Ensure due diligence and ongoing monitoring is in place for suppliers supporting critical services
- Report regularly to the Board and Audit & Risk Committee
- Maintain oversight of key controls and assurance activities across the business
- Substantial hands-on experience in business continuity and operational resilience
- Strong grounding in IT and technology risk
- Proven experience managing supplier and third-party risk
- Confident presenting at Board or Executive level
- A track record of managing crises or major incidents
- Relevant professional certifications; CISM, ISO 22301, ICA or PRINCE2
- Experience with recognised operational and technology resilience frameworks
- Sound judgement and the ability to cut through ambiguity
- Strong stakeholder influence; comfortable at both Board and operational level
- Clear-headed under pressure; decisive when it matters
- Analytical approach to risk assessment and control design
