A specialist contingency insurance broker based in the City of London. The business operates across UK and international markets, placing cover for a range of specialist risks through the London & Lloyds markets.

This is a pure technical processing role supporting the broking team. You will manage the end-to-end documentation and administrative lifecycle for contingency insurance placements, working behind the scenes to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely policy processing. There is no client-facing or broker-facing responsibility attached to this position; the focus is entirely on technical operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and produce MRC (Market Reform Contract) slips incorporating risk details and coverage requirements
  • Load and manage documentation on PPL (Placing Platform Limited)
  • Liaise with underwriters to obtain stamps and approvals on documentation
  • Coordinate with the processing team for accurate system loading and transaction records
  • Handle policy endorsements and amendments throughout the policy lifecycle
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate client and policy records
  • Assist with claims processing administration where required
  • Support internal brokers and business producers with technical documentation queries
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Solid grounding in London Market procedures and documentation practices
  • Hands-on experience with MRC slip production
  • Proficient in PPL (Placing Platform Limited) and/or Whitespace
  • Experience with Xchanging/Velonetic processing
  • Knowledge of Contingency Insurance products and market practices (essential)
  • High accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation
  • Able to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • CII qualification (working towards or achieved) desirable
What This Role Is Not:

This position does not involve managing client relationships, handling incoming enquiries, or acting as an intermediary between clients or retail brokers and the market. Candidates currently performing or seeking hybrid account handler roles with client or broker-facing responsibilities should note that this is a dedicated technical processing function.

Performance Expectations:
  • Deliver accurate, compliant documentation within agreed turnaround times
  • Maintain a high standard of record-keeping across all policy transactions
  • Ensure full alignment with FCA regulations, company policies and Lloyds market practices
  • Support process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Undertake additional duties as reasonably required
Position Details:
  • Location: Minimum 2 days per week in the City of London; remainder home-based
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Salary: Up to £50,000 (dependent on experience)
