This is a key, office-based role; a standalone function overseeing and developing IT infrastructure across a network of UK manufacturing sites. The IT Manager will ensure the security, reliability, and performance of systems, while supporting wider technology initiatives. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong project management skills and a collaborative mindset. You’ll be central to delivering innovation and ensuring IT systems enable operational efficiency across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Align IT initiatives with global strategy, ensuring UK systems meet group-wide standards and objectives
- Support and integrate ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Business Central)
- Ensure effective use of Microsoft 365, Teams, and SharePoint to support cross-site collaboration
- Own cybersecurity governance in partnership with external providers
- Act as primary lead for GDPR compliance and data governance
- Define, measure, and report on IT performance metrics (uptime, efficiency, user satisfaction, etc.)
- Build and support internal IT capability; coach and develop team members as required
- Deliver projects on time and within scope, coordinating closely with stakeholders and suppliers
- Drive continuous improvement and system innovation to support business growth
- Develop and maintain IT documentation, policies, and disaster recovery plans
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as an IT Manager (ideally in manufacturing or similar sectors)
- Strong technical knowledge across networking, security, system administration, and cloud platforms
- Skilled in managing and troubleshooting Windows and iOS environments
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity tools, risk management, and GDPR compliance
- Strong project management track record, ideally across multiple sites
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
