Our client designs and manufactures temperature-controlled packaging that keeps life-saving therapies and pharmaceuticals safe in transit for global life science organisations. From clinical trials to commercial distribution, their solutions protect products that genuinely change lives.
We're looking for a Buyer I to join our client's Purchasing team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, supporting their Senior Buyer with the day-to-day operation of the purchasing function at their MK3 site. This is a hands-on, operational role covering purchase order management, SAP data maintenance and supplier administration β ideal for someone with a couple of years' purchasing experience who's ready to hit the ground running.
What you'll be doing:
- Raising and managing Purchase Orders in line with demand requirements
- Reviewing SAP daily against Material Lists and Traffic Lights, taking remedial action where needed
- Monitoring exception messages and outstanding POs, working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to mitigate supply risk
- Supporting vendor qualification, the ECO process, and supplier corrective actions
- Validating supplier invoices and helping resolve cost, quality or delivery queries
- Supporting safety stock replenishment across sites
What we're looking for:
- 1β3 years' experience in a purchasing, buying or supply chain role within a manufacturing, engineering or similar operational environment
- Experience using an ERP system and raising/managing purchase orders (SAP preferred, but not essential)
- Comfortable managing systematic processes and correspondence for a purchasing/supply chain function
- Strong attention to detail, good Excel skills, and a proactive, organised approach
- Studying towards, or interested in, a CIPS qualification (a plus, not required)
Contract: 6-month FTC, based on-site at MK3
