New Leaf Search has partnered with a global captive vehicle finance provider offering tailored funding, leasing and insurance products in its search for a Financial Controller. Excellent salary, bonus and benefits. Location: UK, Midlands (Office).

The Role

This is a senior finance leadership opportunity responsible for leading the Accounting and Tax function across the UK and Ireland operations. Acting as deputy to the CFO, you will oversee financial reporting, accounting, tax, treasury and governance activities while driving transformation, process improvement and technology adoption across the finance function. This role is offered as a 5-month fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting, financial reporting and statutory reporting activities across the UK and Ireland businesses
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, year-end and regulatory reporting
  • Oversee Corporate Tax, VAT, tax planning and compliance activities
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
  • Support capital markets, funding, treasury and cashflow management activities
  • Lead external audit relationships and maintain a strong internal control environment
  • Partner with Business Control teams on planning, forecasting and financial analysis
  • Drive finance transformation, automation and process improvement initiatives
  • Lead and develop accounting, reporting and accounts payable teams
  • Support wider strategic projects and business initiatives across the organisation

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Significant finance leadership experience within financial services
  • Captive finance, vehicle finance or asset finance experience highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, corporate tax, VAT and financial reporting
  • Experience managing treasury, funding and capital market activities advantageous
  • Proven leadership, stakeholder management and people development skills
  • Strong technology mindset with experience of automation and reporting tools
  • Experience leading finance transformation and process improvement initiatives

We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly Asset Finance and Leasing. You will also require relevant IN-COUNTRY experience; without which, your application will NOT be considered.
