James George Recruitment has partnered with one of the UK’s leading Asset Finance providers to recruit a Trainee Business Development Manager to join their growing Vendor Finance team covering Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and the North East.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid understanding of the asset finance industry who is ready to move into an external, relationship-focused sales position.
You’ll receive excellent training, inherit a number of established introducer relationships and be supported as you build your own portfolio of reseller and supplier partners.
This role would suit someone who enjoys building relationships, has commercial awareness and is ambitious to develop a long-term career in field sales.
The Role
Working alongside an experienced management team and dedicated internal support, you’ll be responsible for:
- Developing relationships with existing reseller, distributor and manufacturer partners.
- Visiting prospective introducers to understand their businesses and identify opportunities.
- Building relationships with new and dormant reseller accounts across your territory.
- Promoting finance solutions that help partners increase their sales.
- Delivering presentations and proposing tailored finance programmes.
- Working closely with your Internal Account Manager to maximise partner activity.
- Analysing partner performance and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Achieving sales and new business targets while developing a long-term portfolio of successful introducers.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is motivated, personable and eager to progress into a field sales career.
Ideally you’ll have
- Around 1-3 years’ experience within the asset finance industry.
- Experience in an Internal Account Manager, Sales Support, Vendor Support, Relationship Executive or similar customer-facing role.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine interest in business development and meeting customers face-to-face.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
- A full UK driving licence.
Previous field sales experience isn’t essential. What’s more important is your attitude, enthusiasm and desire to build a successful career in business development.
