This is a key leadership role responsible for managing a flow underwriting team, ensuring high-quality credit decisions, strong governance and efficient deal processing across all business channels. You will combine hands-on underwriting with team leadership, supporting performance, development and continuous improvement within a fast-paced credit environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the Flow underwriting team
- Allocate and prioritise deal flow across the team to meet service levels
- Underwrite small ticket and flow transactions, providing sound credit decisions
- Analyse financial statements, credit data and market intelligence to assess risk
- Exercise delegated sanctioning authority and prepare recommendations where required
- Ensure compliance with credit policy, governance and regulatory requirements
- Support the Head of Risk with reporting and performance oversight
- Conduct regular 1:1s, coaching and development planning for team members
- Monitor underwriting quality through audit and review of decisions
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and capacity
Candidate Profile
- We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly Asset Finance and Leasing.
- You will also require relevant IN-COUNTRY experience; without which, your application will not be considered.
- 3–5 years’ credit underwriting / analysis experience within asset finance
- Strong experience in small ticket / flow underwriting environments
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop team members
- Strong analytical capability with commercial judgement
- Good understanding of asset finance products and risk assessment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Highly organised, adaptable and able to operate in a high-volume environment
Salary and Benefits
Salary up to £80,000 plus up to 25% commission quarterly paid and uncapped. Standard benefits include life, health, pension and other customary packages. Additional bonuses are payable quarterly.
