The Role
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Asset Finance lawyer to join a highly respected international financial services organisation. Working as part of a collaborative legal team, you will provide commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of complex asset finance transactions, supporting both UK and international business activities. This role combines strategic legal advisory work with business partnering, transaction execution and mentoring responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional seeking a broad and influential role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide commercially focused legal advice on complex asset finance transactions
- Draft, negotiate and execute lease, hire purchase, loan and security documentation
- Advise on transaction structuring, security packages and financing arrangements
- Support multi-jurisdictional and cross-border transactions
- Identify and manage legal, regulatory and documentation risks
- Partner with Sales, Credit, Risk and Operations teams to support commercial objectives
- Develop legal templates, policies and best practice guidance
- Deliver legal training and technical support across the business
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the business
- Mentor junior members of the legal team
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- Significant post‑qualification experience, ideally 7+ years
- Strong Asset Finance legal experience is essential
- Experience advising on complex corporate and structured finance transactions
- Knowledge of leveraged finance and LMA documentation advantageous
- Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management skills
- Strong drafting, negotiation and communication abilities
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously
