Investment Operations Manager – London (Hybrid) – 12 month FTC

Salary: £70k + Bonus & Excellent Benefits.

An established and highly regarded investment management business is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of its Client Operations function.

This is a key leadership position, responsible for ensuring the team operates efficiently, processes remain well controlled, clients receive a consistently high level of service, and operational improvements are identified and delivered.

The successful candidate will combine strong people leadership with operational expertise, process improvement and the ability to manage complex escalations in a regulated financial services environment.

The Role

Reporting into senior operational leadership, you’ll oversee teams responsible for investor onboarding and transaction operations, ensuring day-to-day activity is delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with regulatory and internal requirements.

You’ll act as a senior escalation point for complex issues, provide management information and operational insight to leadership, and play a leading role in continuous improvement, technology adoption and operational change.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Investment Operations team, driving performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Oversee day-to-day operational delivery, ensuring processes are efficient, well-controlled and compliant.
• Own and enhance end-to-end operational processes, identifying opportunities to improve controls, accuracy and service.
• Act as the senior escalation point for complex operational issues, leading root-cause analysis and resolution.
• Develop and monitor KPI dashboards and management information, using data to identify risks and capacity trends.
• Lead operational change initiatives, including system enhancements, process improvements and regulatory projects.
• Ensure operational readiness for new products, systems and process changes through effective planning and training.
• Champion the adoption of automation and AI tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners and senior stakeholders across the business.
• Communicate operational performance, risks and improvement initiatives clearly to leadership.
• Maintain high standards of regulatory compliance and operational governance across the function.
• Support wider business initiatives and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the operations function.

About You

We are looking for an experienced operations professional who has worked within financial services, ideally across investment management, wealth management, or commercial lending.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

• Significant experience within a commercial financial services operations environment.
• Proven experience managing and developing a team.
• A strong track record of owning and improving end-to-end operational processes.
• Experience working with operational data, KPIs and management information.
• Experience managing complex operational escalations and resolving issues under pressure.
• Experience contributing to or leading operational change and transformation projects.
• Good understanding of working within an FCA-regulated environment.
• Strong Salesforce experience is highly advantageous
