Our client are seeking to hire a Business Development Manager to take over the sales area of Edinburgh and borders sales area potentially also covering across to Carlisle. They are seeking a generalist new business hard asset financier to focus on SME and SMB customers.
ResponsibilitiesYour role is to identify, prospect and win new business – this can be direct sourced or potentially dealer introduced but not broker driven.
As our clients are part of a prestigious major group so you will have access to not only own book funding but also a huge panel of funders that includes tier 1 funders such as Lloyds & HSBC.
Typically selling rates to customers are in the range of 7-9% and usually profit margins are typically 2.5% of the asset value.
An excellent pay plan is provided that pays you 20% of the income you generate each quarter, a threshold applies from quarter two onwards in the role but commission is paid at 20% right back to zero once above the threshold.
Once you have achieved your annual target you receive a further 5% commission on your entire year’s income which is paid at fiscal year end.
This opportunity provides 80% of the benefits of being an Authorised Representative at a superbroker but with none of the risk of needing to be self employed or to set up and manage your own Ltd company and then to have no salary, no paid holiday, no benefits and no security.
Volume and profit expectations are realistic and typical earnings in the sales team range generally from £120,000 to > £170,000 a year, leading earners in the past have earned to > £300,000 in a single year.

Candidate ProfilePlease apply only if you meet the following criteria:
- You are living on the sales area and area ideally located relatively local to Edinburgh and can readily travel to wherever major business is expected to emanate from across your sales area.
- You have a successful sales background in direct driven asset finance sales in the SME and SMB sectors.
- You have ability to sell to customers ideally at rates of 9.0% that will enable you to generate £2500 to £3000 gross profit on a typical £100,000 deal.
- You have either an existing customer base or at least some warm customer contacts you can re-leverage in a new asset finance sales role.
- You are a genuine self starter who has the ability to work from home, largely unsupervised.
- You have a real hunger and desire for a high and uncapped income and a willingness to put in the requisite hours to earn a total income that should be over £125,000 in year 1 in role and ought to be rather more quickly thereafter.
