Providing bespoke industrial process heating solutions, temperature maintenance, environmental monitoring and temporary power distribution solutions extensively within petrochemical, oil & gas, and other industrial environments. Our client is a global business and a world-class leader in their field, established for over sixty years. Due to continued growth, they’re seeking to appoint a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to play a critical role in the design of bespoke industrial/process heating systems, panel board and cable schedules, wiring diagrams, BOMs and location plans. This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer or an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who can read and interpret engineering drawings (e.g. piping isometric drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs) and/or has working knowledge of basic electrical principles, e.g., Ohm's Law, voltage, amperage, circuits etc.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the design and engineering of electrical heat tracing systems for industrial projects.
- Identify heat tracing requirements from customers' drawings, specifications and quotations.
- Create and review design documentation including but not limited to: Electrical heat tracing isometric drawings; Cable schedules and single line diagrams; Bills of Materials, and Location/layout plans.
- Use AutoCAD to develop design drawings.
- Collaborate with project managers, CAD technicians, and other engineering disciplines to ensure accurate and timely project delivery.
- Occasionally participate in site surveys to collect data for design development.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ATEX).
Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Attributes and Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of HNC or equivalent experience in related field.
- Experience in industrial engineering environments.
- Experience with AutoCAD drafting.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (e.g. piping isometric drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs) and specifications.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Exposure to electrical design software or systems (training on heat tracing tools will be provided).
- Understanding of piping systems and insulation components preferred.
Details of Salary / Package:
Salary Up to £50,000 (Depending on Experience) + Competitive Benefits inc. Health Care + 27 days Holiday + Stats. Potential for an element of hybrid working via agreement post induction/onboarding. Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, Friday 8.30 am to 3.45 pm.
