Industrial Door Engineering Ltd are looking for an Industrial Door Fitter.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that at all times work is undertaken to the standard set by IDE, as expected by our customers.
- Carry out the work in accordance with the instructions issued by the Operations Manager/Planner in a safe and cost effective manner.
- Provide advice to customers on appropriate repairs and upgrades and confirm a quotation will be raised internally.
- Fulfil our 'duty of care' by following our Preventive Maintenance commitment to our customers, by replacing worn or Change-Before-It-Breaks (CBIB) components, according to IDE schedules and guidelines.
- Ensure that customers are kept fully informed on the progress of work undertaken on site and advised when work is completed and shown what was done.
- Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with the Company's Health & Safety Policy and associated Method Statements and Risk Assessments, making sure there is no risk to self or others.
- Adhere to the customer's own site procedures and Health & Safety rules.
- Ensure that parts and equipment stock (primarily stock in vans) is stored and handled correctly, accounted for and reported accurately once used. Van stock must be maintained to the correct levels.
- Doing what has been instructed and agreed, provide a reliable service to internal and external customers at all times.
- Always reporting the status/completion to the office and customers, or, when circumstances change which could affect future planned work.
- Adopt a "can do" approach with our customers, particularly in relation to prompt repairs using van stock.
- Professionally represent our company, to promote and enhance its reputation.
- Ensure all reporting is conducted as per IDE policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

- Willingness to take ownership of their allocated team and to stand up and be counted.
- Strong customer focus, passionate about customers, and the service we provide both personally and through each of the engineers in his/her allocated team.

- An engineering background sufficient to deal with the technical aspects of installation and commissioning is desirable.
- A structured and well organised approach, focusing on daily disciplines.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues when required to ensure the most efficient approach for our customers.
