HID’s Reader Business Unit is seeking a Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to support the development of the Retail vertical across Europe, Middle East and Africa within the Asset and Item Readers segment. This role focuses on driving growth through a combination of direct customer engagement and partner-led execution, working closely with system integrators, OEMs and solution providers.
Success in this position requires a commercially driven and operationally credible sales professional with experience in Retail environments, and the ability to engage with retailers on operationally critical initiatives, including inventory accuracy, RFID-enabled merchandise visibility, loss prevention, omnichannel fulfillment, and store productivity optimization.
The Regional Sales Manager will support the execution of the EMEA go-to-market strategy, build pipeline across priority use cases, and contribute to the development of scalable routes to market across applications such as asset tracking, worker safety, site logistics and infrastructure monitoring. This role requires a hands-on, execution-focused individual contributor, capable of managing opportunities, supporting partners and converting pipeline into revenue outcomes.
As our Regional Sales Manager, Retail, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Own and drive the Retail vertical sales strategy across EMEA, aligned with overall BU growth objectives.
- Build, develop and convert a pipeline of opportunities across priority use cases such as asset tracking, worker safety, site logistics and infrastructure visibility.
- Engage directly with customers and partners to support solution-driven opportunities and drive deal progression.
- Develop and support a partner ecosystem across EMEA, including system integrators, OEMs and ISVs.
- Contribute to the development of routes to market, supporting both partner-led execution and direct sales activities.
- Manage sales cycles from discovery through to proposal and closure, with support from senior stakeholders where required.
- Maintain CRM discipline, pipeline visibility and forecasting accuracy across all opportunities.
- Work closely with Product Management, Engineering and Marketing to support solution positioning and market adoption.
- Monitor market trends, customer requirements and competitive activity to support ongoing refinement of the vertical approach.
- Represent HID in customer engagements, partner interactions and industry events within the Retail space.
Education/ or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent, and experience in retail technology, RFID, inventory visibility, or identification solutions are advantageous.
- 5–8+ years of experience in sales or business development within the Retail market, or market adjacencies.
- Proven track record of driving new business and achieving growth targets in solution-based sales environments.
- Experience with RFID (HF and UHF) and industrial AIDC solutions is a strong advantage.
- Experience selling integrated solutions, combining hardware, software and services into operational workflows.
- Ability to operate as a hands-on individual contributor, managing opportunities from discovery through to close within a defined vertical.
- Experience working with or supporting partner ecosystems, including system integrators, OEMs and technology partners.
- Experience engaging multiple stakeholders, including operations, engineering, IT and procurement functions.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, including inventory visibility, merchandising processes, customer experience initiatives, loss prevention programs, and technologies that enable real-time product identification and traceability.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset, with experience working cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering and Marketing teams.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities in parallel.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to operate effectively in evolving and sometimes ambiguous environments.
