A Quality Engineer ensures products and processes meet quality standards by maintaining systems like ISO 9001 and conducting regular audits. They analyze quality data to identify issues, reduce defects, and improve overall performance.
The role involves working with teams and suppliers to fix problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. They also manage non-conforming products and support continuous improvement efforts. Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills are key to success in this role.
Essential Duties:
- Provide management support in maintaining and continuously improving the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) and Terminal Quality Management (TQM) System.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure company operations and personnel comply with established procedures, ISO 9001 standards, and TQM requirements.
- Raise the general level of quality awareness within the company and make frequent patrols of the production lines.
- Measure, compile, analyze and report internal & external quality metrics.
- Drive cost of poor-quality improvements.
- Work with stakeholders to implement product/process improvements that reduce the number of DMR’s being raised through production and the supply chain.
- Lead triage and escalation of emerging product quality issues to resolution.
- Control non-conforming products in accordance with specification and manage corrective and preventative actions completion and verify effectiveness.
- Manage corrective action requests (CAR’s) for external & internal product and process quality issues.
- Conduct / facilitate root cause and failure analysis of returned product as necessary.
- Actively participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including DFMEA reviews, control plan development, and DVT plan assessment.
Primary Duties:
- Liaise with suppliers and contract manufacturers to address quality issues, including conducting audits when required.
- Facilitate FMEA meetings with a cross-functional team to ensure quality is built into new products & processes.
- Supervise the Inspector(s) day-to-day activities.
- Prepare and present quality information to management, suppliers and customers as required.
- Lead and oversee the company-wide calibration program to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
Essential Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
- 3-5 years of experience in production/quality engineering, ideally in an electronic assembly environment.
- A solid understanding of quality system requirements and quality tools such as 8D, Cause & Effect Diagram (fishbone), control plans, SPC, FMEA and demonstrated analytical skills to use the data driven approach to solve customer quality issues.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Must demonstrate customer focused mentality.

Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree in a related field is preferred.
- Mandarin language proficiency is a plus.
- Knowledge of Mastercard Global Terminal Quality Management (TQM) program would be beneficial.
- Good listening skills and ability to diplomatically deal with difficult customers, supplier and cross functional situations to achieve desired business results.
- Understanding and proven work experience with quality, lean and waste elimination processes and tools ensuring continuous improvement.
Work Requirements:
- Compliance with all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
- Travel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which you are hired.
