As a DevOps Engineer reporting to the KAM Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation and configuration of our cloud-centric product and service offerings within KAM with resiliency, reliability and scalability at the forefront, in conjunction with our colleagues based in the east-coast of the US. This role is currently completely remote from the UK. You would also be responsible for:
- Developing and enhancing SaaS product offerings with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, observability, and overall, well-architected principles.
- Managing and improving CI/CD platforms and pipelines, driving end-to-end automation across code build, testing, deployment, and broader software delivery lifecycles in collaboration with security engineering.
- Implementing automation for infrastructure, virtual machines, and containerized environments across multiple rapidly growing cloud platforms, while identifying further automation opportunities aligned with delivery roadmaps.
- Supporting the evolution of DevOps culture and practices within the organization, working within an Agile environment to meet development, testing, and releasing team needs.
- Managing, maintaining, and continuously improving operational runbooks and playbooks, ensuring streamlined, automated operations for the platforms provided.
The skills and experience you need:
- Has strong experience with public cloud computing, primarily Microsoft Azure, with beneficial knowledge of AWS to support multi-cloud environments.
- Possesses solid skills in configuration management and infrastructure-as-code, with required expertise in Terraform/OpenTofu and additional value placed on tools such as Ansible, Pulumi, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure Bicep.
- Has an excellent understanding of core infrastructure concepts including virtual machines, serverless compute, networking, storage, and databases, as well as good knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, build/test automation, and tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Can manage containerised workloads using Azure Container Apps, AWS ECS, and Docker, with desirable experience in Kubernetes and Helm.
- Is comfortable working remotely with occasional visits to the Olney office, collaborating effectively with east-coast US colleagues—including occasional time-shifted work—and handling some on-call and out-of-hours responsibilities.
