Industrial Door Engineering Ltd are looking for a Fitters Mate based in Northwich.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that at all times work is undertaken to the standard set by IDE, as expected by our customers.
- Carry out the work in accordance with the instructions issued by the Service Planners in a safe and cost effective manner.
- Provide advice to customers on appropriate repairs and upgrades and confirm a quotation will be raised internally.
- Fulfil our ‘duty of care’ by following our Preventive Maintenance commitment to our customers, by replacing worn or Change-Before-It-Breaks (CBIB) components, according to IDE schedules and guidelines.
- Ensure that customers are kept fully informed on the progress of work undertaken on site and advised when work is completed and shown what was done.
- Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and associated Method Statements and Risk Assessments, making sure there is no risk to self or others.
- Adhere to the customer’s own site procedures and Health & Safety rules.
- Ensure that parts and equipment stock (primarily stock in vans) is stored and handled correctly, accounted for and reported accurately once used.
- Van stock must be maintained to the correct levels.
- Doing what has been instructed and agreed, provide a reliable service to internal and external customers at all times.
- Always reporting the status/completion to the planners and customers, or, when circumstances change which could affect future planned work.
- Adopt a “can do” approach with our customers, particularly in relation to prompt repairs using van stock.
- Professionally represent our company, to promote and enhance its reputation.
- Ensure all reporting is conducted as per IDE policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
