Do you have the financial leadership and operational excellence to strengthen our performance and support our growth? Join the ASSA ABLOY Group in the UK, and be part of a collaborative culture that empowers you to build a career you'll be proud of. Note that the role will be primarily office-based, in the Watford area.

This is a hands-on and developmental role, ideal for a proactive finance professional who enjoys building structure and improving processes. Working closely with the Finance Director within the Vingcard brand, you will establish core financial reporting foundations and governance controls within the business. Initially, the focus will be on creating reliable financial reporting and strengthening financial oversight. Over time, the role will evolve into a broader commercial and business-partnering position.

You would also be responsible for:

  • Managing core accounting activities, including preparing and maintaining the monthly trial balance, developing and producing monthly management accounts, and leading payroll postings and reconciliations to ensure full accuracy and compliance.
  • Delivering corporate and group reporting, establishing reporting processes aligned with ASSA ABLOY requirements, introducing balance sheet reconciliations (with Group Finance support), and collaborating with UK finance teams on systems and best practices.
  • Strengthening governance and controls by identifying financial inaccuracies, controlling weaknesses, and governance risks, while supporting the implementation of robust financial controls and scalable reporting processes.
  • Partnering with the Finance Director to build a scalable management accounting and corporate reporting framework, while also supporting weekly sales and order forecasting.
  • Enhancing financial insight and planning through ongoing support of forecasting activities and continuous coordination with UK finance teams to ensure alignment and process improvement.

Post Initial 6 Months of employment, the role will involve developing and maintaining cash flow forecasting while continuing to provide financial analysis that supports strategic decision-making across the business. It will include developing, monitoring, and communicating key performance measures that align with the company's strategic financial objectives. Each month, the position will provide variance explanations to help both operating areas and financial operations understand the key drivers behind business performance. In addition, the role will support the annual budget, quarterly re-forecasts, and monthly financial reporting to ensure transparency and meaningful insight across the organisation. The position will also assist with both internal and external audits as required, ensuring strong financial governance and compliance.

The skills and experience you need:

  • Is a qualified or finalist ACCA, ACA, or CIMA, and has 2-5 years' experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or general ledger, with strong capabilities in financial reporting, trial balance preparation, and management accounts.
  • Has a solid understanding of governance, controls, and risk identification, and is able to work effectively in environments where processes are still being established and improved.
  • Is proactive, self-starting, and solutions-focused, and has strong communication skills enabling effective collaboration with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Has experience working with ERPs (SAGE or SAP S/4HANA advantageous) and consolidation tools such as Hyperion or OneStream (desirable) and can manipulate data confidently with strong Excel skills.
  • Is familiar with basic UK VAT and tax reporting requirements, which is considered a valuable bonus.

Previous experience setting up finance functions from scratch is not required, but confidence in building and improving processes is important.

What we offer:

  • Opportunity to shape the finance function of a newly acquired business.
  • Exposure to both operational and commercial finance.
  • Backing and career development opportunities within a global organisation.
  • A clear pathway into business partnering and broader group exposure.
