Industrial Door Engineering is looking to recruit a Factory Engineer. Are you a skilled fabricated or mechanically minded individual looking for a hands-on engineering role? IDE is seeking a Factory Engineer to join our production team, playing a key role in the fabrication and assembly of industrial roller shutter doors. This is a practical, workshop-based position that requires precision, teamwork and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate roller shutter doors and components from raw materials using a range of machinery and hand tools.
  • Work from technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate assembly of products.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, guillotines, drills and welding tools (primarily MIG welding).
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality and safety across all tasks.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure finished products meet strict tolerances and company standards.
  • Assist with loading/unloading materials and keeping workspaces clean and organized.
  • Support installation preparation when required.
  • Follow all company health and safety guidelines and safe working practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider production team and supervisors to meet production goals.

About You

  • Has experience in metal fabrication, welding, or mechanical assembly (this is preferred but not essential – full training can be provided for the right candidate).
  • Is proficient in or willing to learn MIG welding and the use of fabrication tools and equipment.
  • Ideally has a forklift license.
  • Can read and work from technical drawings.
  • Has a strong eye for detail and commitment to producing high quality work.
  • Is a team player with a flexible, proactive approach and positive attitude.
  • Understands workshop health and safety standards.
